    MARENGO is a much-loved example of the Nelson 42 which was a development of the extremely successful Nelson 40 design. The hull share was tweaked to give fuller and higher sections forward, improving the load carrying capacity and providing a drier ride in heavy weather. The hulls were moulded by Halmatic to Lloyd's standards and then fitted out by a variety of different yards

    MARENGO was refitted to a high standard internally between 2017-19, modifying the layout below decks to provide a larger forward cabin and heads. She offers comfortable and reliable cruising for four people.

    PRM hydraulic reversing marine gearboxes. The starboard engine gearbox was renewed in 2018. Single lever Morse controls. NASA EX-1engine exhaust temperature monitor and alarm.

    Other Information

    Marengo is in excellent mechanical order and would be an excellent way to get into Nelson's with spending a lot of money. THe boats are go anywhere sea boats with a very high reputation for sea worthiness and safety. For many years they were used as pilot boats for Trinity House and are still being used for this purpose in many parts of the world.
